The Garden of Maria Dompè

The Garden of Norma Parenti

A symbol of courage and inspiration for the entire community, a tribute to the partisan Norma Parenti, a unique space that blends art and nature to offer visitors a deeply reflective experience.

An Art Garden Dedicated to Norma Parenti

The “Sol Omnibus Lucet” (The Sun Shines for Everyone) garden, created by landscape sculptor Maria Dompè, is a tribute to the memory of Norma Parenti, a young partisan and recipient of the Gold Medal for Military Valor.

This “art garden” is a unique space— a “living artwork” that blends earth formations, grassy surfaces, and local stone to create spirals and shapes that evoke harmony and continuity.

Located near the medieval walls, the garden also stands on an archaeological site, emphasizing the dialogue between past and present envisioned by the artist.

A Corner of Beauty and Meditation

Designed as a place of meditation, the “Sol Omnibus Lucet” garden welcomes visitors with the fragrance of Mediterranean herbs, the soft notes of classical music played through an acoustic system, and a breathtaking view. From the Maremma valleys, the sea horizon is visible, with the island of Elba completing the enchanting landscape.

At the heart of the installation lies a metal box containing wishes written by students from Massa Marittima’s schools during the garden’s creation. This element, both symbolic and tangible, represents a bridge between generations, intertwining contemporary art with history and future hopes.

A place that celebrates memory and landscape, offering a unique experience in the heart of Massa Marittima.
